No cover notes or credits. Mfd. For BMG Direct Marketing, Inc. Under LicenseThis release is very similar to Melanie (2) - The Best Of Melanie, but has no SID codes and disk inner ring only says "MADE IN USA" and not "Made In USA By PMDC".
  6. Doumuro says:
Melanie's fame today (such as it is) rests on 3 songs - Ruby Tuesday (cover of a Stones' album track), Look what they've done to my song Ma (probably more associated with the New Seekers, who had a hit with it) and Brand New Key, a top 5 hit but surely associated by nearly everyone with the Wurzels (per)version, which got to number one in the seventies/5(56).
  7. Maushura says:
Melanie's high pitched squawking is both a period curio and a disarmingly gentle weapon. The tracks assembled here vary in quality. She was given to novelty songs ("Animal Crackers," "Brand New Key") but was at her interpretive best with something as difficult as the Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday."/5(51).
  8. Brarisar says:
This CD encompasses ten of Melanie's best-known songs and two which are relatively newer ("As Long As We Stand" and "Freedom Knows My Name"), but which will still be recognizable to her stalwart fans. I don't know if these particular performances are available on other collections/5(4).
  9. Fedal says:
She is best known for her 60's/70's hits ‘Brand new Key’, Ruby Tuesday and ‘What Have They done to My Song Ma’ Although she emerged from the folk/singer-songwriter boom of the Woodstock generation, Melanie’s hits always had more of a pop edge to them/5().
